Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?

No, you do not need a referral to see a psychologist.




What appointment times do you offer?

Only daytime appointments are offered.




How long do therapy sessions last?

Your first session will usually last 1 to 1½ hours. This will give you a chance to talk about why you decided to come for therapy, your goals for therapy and also determine whether you and your therapist are a good fit. After that sessions will typically last 50 minutes. During your first meeting you and your therapist will decide how often you should meet.



How many therapy sessions will I require?

There is no minimum or maximum number of sessions you should attend, as therapy is very personal. We do recommend that you come for at least four to six sessions, as this is what it generally takes to build a therapeutic relationship and begin seeing positive outcomes from therapy. If you come regularly, you and your therapist will periodically review your progress to make sure you are benefiting from your time together and determine if there is anything that can be improved upon.



How long do assessment sessions last?

Assessment sessions generally last two to four hours depending on the age of the person who is being assessed and the type of assessment being done. However, this can be tailored to suit your needs. For example, if you are coming from out of town we can schedule longer meetings; alternatively, if you feel that you or your child can only tolerate short sessions we can accommodate that as well.



What are your fees?

Services with Dr. Jette are $225 per hour. Forensic services are $300 per hour. The cost of assessments depend on the type and complexity of the assessment you are requesting. Is there coverage for psychological services?

Therapy and assessment services may be reimbursed in whole or part by your extended health care benefits. Services may also be a tax-deductible medical expense.



What types of payment do you accept?

Payment can be made by credit card or e-transfer. 



What if I miss my appointment?

Your appointment is a block of time that is reserved for you. If you believe you won’t be able to make a scheduled appointment, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible. If we are able to fill the time with another client, no fee will be charged to you; however, the regular hourly fee will be charged for any appointments that are missed or cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice if we cannot fill the time with another client.
